Michael T. Chinaka (O‘ahu)
Michael Chinaka serves as Chief Financial Officer for Bishop Museum. He served as Interim President for Bishop Museum from February to October 2007.  Previously, Mr. Chinaka was the Museum’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.  In his role as CFO, Mr. Chinaka had been responsible for all aspects of the Museum’s administrative functions, including finance, accounting, budgeting, investments, information technology, human resources, building and grounds, and registration. Prior to his Museum appointment, Mr. Chinaka was Chief Operations Officer of the Asia/Pacific Region of The Nature Conservancy.  Mr. Chinaka was born and raised in Honolulu and graduated from Kalani High School, and the University of Hawai‘i – Manoa (B.B.A. in Accounting, 1974, and M.B.A. 1977).  He obtained his permit to practice as a Certified Public Accountant in November 1977.  Mr. Chinaka is married to Amy M. Chinaka and has four children.
