Carl A. Carlson, Jr. is the founder of Hu‘ehu‘e Ventures, LLC, a firm providing real estate consulting and agricultural property management in the state of Hawaii. He has over 35 years of experience in the real estate, ranching and agricultural sectors in Hawaii. His real estate background includes experience in development, sales and acquisition of resort and ranch properties.
For ten years, Mr. Carlson served as a Trustee of the Parker Ranch Foundation Trust (PRFT). Mr. Carlson was the owner and President of Kona Livestock and Land Management, Ltd and General Manager of Hu‘ehu‘e Ranch. Directorships have included Parker Ranch Inc., Waimea Wastewater, Inc., Hawaii Meat Company, Inc., Kahua Beef Sales, Ltd., Hue Hue Corp., and Island Commodities, Corp.
Mr. Carlson is currently a Member of the Board of Regents of the University of Hawaii and serves on the Personnel, Public Private Partnership, and Presidential Search Committees and sits on the Board of the Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii. He previously served as a Member of the State of Hawaii Board of Agriculture and as a Member and former Chair of the Hawaii County Board of Ethics. He currently serves as a Board Member of the Hawaii Chapter of the Nature Conservancy. Other community service has included Kuki‘o Community Fund, Kohala Center, Hawaii Leeward Planning Conference, Kohala Aina Partners, Kohala Preserve Conservation Trust and the Urban Land Institute.
Mr. Carlson was born in Wailuku, raised in Waikapu and graduated from Henry Perrine Baldwin High School in 1963. He obtained a Bachelors of Science Degree from California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, California in 1967.
