TIMOTHY E. JOHNS
Timothy E. Johns has been President and CEO of Bishop Museum since December 2007. Prior to joining the Museum, Mr. Johns served as Chief Operating Officer for the Estate of Samuel Mills Damon. Immediately previous to this position, he was the Chairman of the State Land and Natural Resources Board and as such, the Director of the DLNR. He has also served as Vice President and General Counsel of AMFAC Property Development Corporation, as a Lecturer in Business Law at the University of Hawai‘i and the Windward Community College, and as the Director of Land Protection for the Nature Conservancy of Hawai‘i. Mr. Johns received his Bachelor’s degree in history and economics at UC Santa Barbara and a Master’s in economics and Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California Law Center. His extensive community involvement includes active membership on the State Board of Land and Natural Resources, the Northwest Hawaiian Island Coral Reef Ecosystem Reserve Advisory Council, and the Rotary Club of Honolulu. Mr. Johns serves as a Trustee of the Parker Ranch Foundation, and on the boards of directors for the Hawaiian Electric Company, Inc., Grove Farm Company, Inc, YMCA of Honolulu, Hawaii Nature Center, St. Andrew’s Priory School, Child and Family Services, Helping Hands Hawaii, Diamond Head Theater, and Hawaii Public Television Foundation.
