More About the Waikiki War Memorial Natatorium
While the latest study and debate goes on, the Natatorium continues to crumble. Photos from a recent site visit in 2009 shows how the pool's decks continue to crumble and the increased deteroriation since June 2004 survey photos were taken. The Natatorium's restoration was halted by Mayor Hannemann in February 2005 to consider less expensive alternatives to finishing the $5.8 project to complete the restoration.
Demolition By Neglect Continues
