HISTORIC HAWAI‘I FOUNDATION
George Freeland, an English Royal Canadian Mountie, founded the Pioneer Hotel in the heart of Lahaina in 1901. It hosted notable guests Jack London and Sun Yat-Sen.
It still operates to this day as a hotel by the Best Western operators.
