HISTORIC HAWAI‘I FOUNDATION
  • Constructed with steel and concrete in 1928, at over 200 feet, this smoke stack was once the tallest man-made structure on Maui (+200 ft tall).  It is a reminder of a by-gone sugar era on West Maui.
  • Pioneer Mill Sugar Co. was founded in 1860 and closed in 1999.
  • The smoke stack is still used by present day boaters as a landmark.
  • The Lahaina Restoration Foundation has recently launched a fundraising campaign to fund the restoration project estimated at $300,000.
