This is historic because of its association with the Harbor Commission of the Territory of Hawaii in the period after WWII and before the 1959 advent of jet airliners. This building replaced an earlier section of the 1926 Pier 11 building (containing offices and storage) that was destroyed when Nimitz Highway was re-aligned/ widened.
