Style: Spanish Mission style
Construction: reinforced concrete encased in hollow tile
- The exterior was plaster veneer, painted pink
- Four square towers with round arched openings
- Blue tile roofs on the the wings and main body.
- Situated at a 38 degree angle from Kalakaua Ave., the main thoroughfare of Waikiki
- Floors: Concrete floors were concrete, poured in place
Facts:
- Four hundred rooms each included bath, balcony and ocean or mountain view
- Largest hotel in the islands until 1957 when the Hawaiian Village Hotel was expanded
