A preview of Hawai‘i Modernism and Preservation of Next Generation Historic Properties will be the topic at Pau Hana with a Purpose on June 16.
The free public event will be held at the Design Within Reach Studio at Ala Moana Center on Thursday, June 16, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Pau Hana with a Purpose is an intermittent program in which Historic Hawai‘i Foundation offers a brief presentation on a current issue in historic preservation, followed by small group conversations for more detailed information.
The program will explore mid-century building and landscape design in Hawai‘i, with emphasis on the Modern movement, including the theories and execution of Modern principles and how they were applied in the Pacific.
The event is co-sponsored by Fung Associates, Inc., which is preparing a Modernism Context Study for Historic Hawai‘i Foundation, and by the Design Within Reach Studio
