FIVE SITES ADDED TO HAWAI‘I’s MOST ENDANGERED HISTORIC PLACES LIST
Historic Hawai‘i Foundation has announced five additions to the list of the Most Endangered Historic Places in Hawai‘i. The annual list is compiled by HHF in cooperation with the State Historic Preservation Division and HONOLULU magazine. The 2011 additions are published in HONOLULU’s November issue.
“The list is a call to action, but it’s also a way to appreciate the hidden treasures of our built environment,” writes reporter Victoria Wiseman.
The 2011 Most Endangered Historic Places are:
- Mānoa’s historic residences (Honolulu, O‘ahu)
- Kapahulu Art Moderne buildings (Honolulu, O‘ahu)
- Ka‘a Ahupua‘a (Lāna‘i)
- Queen Emma Building (Honolulu, O‘ahu)
- Kapaia Swinging Bridge (Līhu‘e, Kaua‘i)
